May be it misunderstood the meaning of cross road,
may be it wants to have a chicken soup on the other side of the road,
may be the road was on mexico-america border so it is giving hard time to the border security force,
may be it is trying to direct attention from media by crossing the road naked.

Here's my answer:
I once saw an actual chicken doing this! It was hilarious! The chicken was crossing this road, she made ready itself, STOPPED before the traffic!, WATCHED LEFT AND RIGHT for cars, and when it was safe just walked slowly!
Why?! Why did the chicken do it! lol!
To get to the other side! I saw it!

The chicken crossed the road because it was tired of getting choked by a hairy palm 5 times a day 7 days a week for 3 years straight
