those feel-good movies ("chick flicks," I think?) that make you believe anything is possible and love conquers all. I'm more inclined to watch comedies, although that one is sort of bittersweet. :wub:

It's even more bittersweet to think that a lot of the outdoor scenes in New York had to be cut or otherwise edited because of the events on Sept. 11 that year.

As an aside, I've been known to well up every now and then at the scene from Say Anything when he's outside with the radio above his head. I have the DVD and set it as my wallpaper too

But I have to say the movie I can't watch without crying at the end is Philadelphia, with Tom Hanks as an AIDS-afflicted lawyer fighting discrimination.

It probably isn't giving much away to say Hanks' character dies at the end. At his funeral there is a slide show with all kinds of pictures of him growing up, and Neil Young's "City of Brotherly Love" plays over the filmstrips. I don't think it's bad karma or a transgression of any universal laws to cry at such a moment; actually, I believe it's a good thing because it demonstrates one's ability to show empathy when others are hurting.

I don't agree with this.

Biologically, we cry because there is a surplus of emotions in our bodies. To deal with the excess our bodies unleashes water through our eyes (tears.)

Sometimes we cry when we're extremely sad.

Sometimes we cry when we're extremely happy.

That being said, you can 'manifest' positively as well as negatively, so it's not necessarily BAD for you.
I tell my clients that if they find things that they want in their lives and they cry when they think about it, then it's GOOD. That means they genuinely want whatever they've been crying about in their lives.

Again, this is just my opinion.

That being said, a scene that makes me cry is the ending of 'Braveheart' when Wallace screams "Freedom!"

The Green Mile always turns me into a teary eyed guy.. I avoid watching it cos its so sad to see someone being punished for helping to save lives
