I absolutely agree with you.
The idea must be really precise and specific.
There is a main problem for every business: Location.
Internet helps you to eliminate that problem giving you the possibility to have a wide range of clients throughout the world.
If you are specialized in intangible services (like software) or designing websites I think that you can really have a very good opportunity using the internet.
If you want to operate in several countries and your goods are tangible (so you need to move them from one country to another) it's probably better to consult with a specialist (finding a partner in the other country is a very good idea).
One of the problems is tax imposition so you have to be careful choosing a good consultant for that aspect.
